JUDIE JAY (HUN)
Born in Bordj Menaiel (Algeria), Judie Jay lived in Canada, worked in Berlin and Corfu, but is of Hungarian nationality. These years of multicultural environment have greatly affected her musical style. Though at the age of 16 her parents had her enrolled into classical singing, Judie took only 2 lessons . At the age of 17, she decided to grab the mic again and was the lead singer of 4-5 bands simultaneously. Not finding what she was looking for, Judie kept on searching by joining every band she found worthy.
Pluto Project was the first formation she successfully stuck with for a longer period of time and recorded her first hit ‘4000’. Her first solo project became known under the name of Travellin’ Reptile Show.
Judie’s music career consists of an amazingly large number of various impulses. These experiences have resulted in her ability to assimilate into any genre of music, such as jazz, blues, electronic beats, hip-hop and trip-hop.
Judie Jay sang with Pluto Project, Le Garage, The Cas!o Samples, Toy Division, Mantra Porno, Karányi Dani, Colorstar, Heaven Street Seven, Tape Underground, Cadik, Zagar, Beat Dis and Realistic Crew.
After 14 years of life in the music industry, Judie’s first solo album was made alongside with Szabolcs Máté, producer of Secta Chameleon.
The album Harmony launched on May 12th, 2011, published by the joint efforts of Chameleon and DDK Records.
